The DCT2SQL template collection allows conversion of Clarion dictionaries to several SQL backend DDL creation scripts.

There are also several utility templates making the conversion from ISAM files to SQL files easier.

Since the last update there have been a couple of template additions, several template enhancements, and four utilities added.

Most notable is that the PostgreSQL template continues to be enhanced.

Support for this template can be found in the Forums.

If you want to create bar charts, pie charts, line charts or area charts as PDFs royalty free then this Dynamic Link Library (DLL) is for you.

The PDF Chart Creator DLL gives you full control over all aspects of the chart including page size, colors, axes, titles, labels, positioning, legends etc. All you have to do is supply the data and optionally change the default settings and the chart automatically adapts to fit the page based on your settings.

Because the charts are produced as PDF they are scalable and resolution independent so they can be viewed and zoomed without any "blockyness" or "jaggies" appearing. They also look great printed even at very high printer resolutions.

You may be surprised at how small the file size of each PDF Chart Creator document is (typically around 3Kb) – this is because the PDF Chart Creator DLL has been carefully written so that it optimizes the output to produce extremely small PDF file sizes.

Why not take a look at http://www.UtilityWarrior.com/PDF-Chart-Creator-Examples.htm which has an example of every chart type and style currently available.

Now supports the automatic calculation and display of various numerical analyses including "line of best fit" (which uses linear regression) and "moving average".

For full details and to download the DLL please visit http://www.UtilityWarrior.com/PDF-Chart-Creator-Dynamic-Link-Library.htm - this is free to download and try and no details are required in order to access the ZIP file.

Best regards,
The Utility Warrior Team

iQ-XML is a free tool for Clarion developers to add XML functionality to their applications with very little knowledge.

But, don't let the free price scare you. It offers many features not found in Clarion's own XML functions.

iQ-XML comes with both Parser and Writer functions. Quickly generate an XML document from a Clarion Queue, Group structure, or just using the API's.

A novice user can also read a complex XML document and fill a Clarion Queue. Navigate easily through-out the document, finding nodes and parsing only what you need.

For users who feel comfortable with Templates, there are also templates options available for all the API's. Both PDF, Online HTML documentation, as well as example applications are also included.

No (or very little) knowledge of XML needed

Process XML files with cdata and attributes

Easily fill queue contents with different field names

Easily handle dimensional queue fields (reading and writing)

Easily debug your process with an included XML debugger

Easily show and debug the contents of your own Clarion queue

Cascade field contents from one level in to another level

Easily prime empty queue fields with values

Easily skip added queue entries based on optional data

Easily fill queue fields contents based on multi-level field names from parent and grandparent.

and so much more - and all this is totally FREE!

Need help?
Help for iQ-XML is available on the Clarion newgroups (see the online help for more information) - Because this is not my 'job', it is difficult to support the product through private email. However, feel free to send me suggestions or ask for help if you have tried everything!

Greetings -

Recently I have had several forum questions being asked in the Frequently Asked Question. These have been deleted.

The FAQ is so inviduals that have "Frequenly Asked Questions" with answers already can post these items. It was available anonymously so anyone can access this area and then post these items.

It is not a place for asking general questions that you need answers to. That is what the forums are for. And for that you need to register.

Since there seems to be some confusion about this. The FAQ area will now become a registered user area also.

If there are any questions about this, please take the time to register, and post it in the appropiate forum area.

Greetings -

I have added a category to Web Links under Clarion called NetTalk Web Servers.

This will allow individuals to add their NetTalk web server sites under this category.

You can add Web Links anonymously. So you can add your own or others.

There are many additional categories, so you can submit Web Links to sites you have found usefull.

You can even add Web Links to you own web sites, products, and services.

RTFCreator is a new, simple, free tool that I have made available on Icetips. Right now it is distributed as a single EXE in a zip file and there is no help for it and no install.

Download, unzip into any directory and start using it. Apart from a simple RTF editor it only has 3 textboxes and 2 buttons, so I'm not sure what to put into help for it.

RTFCreator was created out of need. Need to fill in RTF fields that were for display purposes only. I got tired of creating the RTF in WordPad then copy/paste and create the Clarion string out of it.

Besides the RTF created by WordPad always had extra verbage that I didn't need and didn't want. Constructing simple RTF is a PITA and I figured I should be able to do something about it.

RTFCreator takes care of that by letting you create a RTF text and display it as formatted RTF, RTF code and Clarion ready RTF code. By Clarion ready RTF Code I mean that all the { have been doubled up to {{ etc. and it is ready to be pasted into a clarion string variable.

The simple RTF editor that comes with it allows you to save and open RTF files.

The zip file is about 1.6Mb download and the exe is compiled local in Clarion 6.3, so you can run this without problems no matter what version of Clarion you are working with.

Enjoy.

If you have any comments on improvements (apart from the obvious such as help and install please drop me an email.

It's a lengthy (40 pages) analysis of ITSM and related IT governance concepts from a data architecture perspective. Included is a high level entity-relationship model, definitions, discussions of general data issues as pertinent to internal IT enablement, and some initial thoughts on data/process matrixing. Extensive coverage of the Configuration Item concept.

I hope that this is useful to ITSM practitioners!
